A 5-minute beauty routine for busy mornings
A practical morning sequence for women who want their skin to look right without spending 20 minutes in front of the mirror.
Busy mornings don't need fewer products. They need the right ones, in the right order, fast.
This is a five-minute sequence built on three ideas: protection first, colour that holds, and nothing that needs babysitting.
Step 1: Cleanse (60 seconds)
If you double-cleansed the night before, your skin is already clean. A rinse with cool water is enough to reset pH and wake you up. If you skipped the evening cleanse, a gentle water-based wash takes 30 seconds. No foam, no heat.
Skip toner unless you're actively treating congestion. Most toners are hydration theatre.
Step 2: Active serum (90 seconds)
This is the step that compounds over time. One pump while your skin is still slightly damp. Let it absorb while you brush your teeth.
Our Brightening Serum No. 1 sinks in under 60 seconds on most skin types. 4% niacinamide, 1% zinc PCA, no fragrance. It won't pill under SPF.
If your skin runs dry or reactive, add the Barrier Repair Serum after the active serum. Ceramide NP, cholesterol, and hyaluronic acid: 30 extra seconds, and your barrier holds better through the day.
Step 3: SPF (60 seconds)
Non-negotiable. Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, applied after the serum is dry. Many SPFs now double as a light moisturiser, which cuts one step. This is where most people skip and where most photoageing accumulates.
Step 4: Lips (60 seconds)
Liner first. It sets the boundary and extends wear by about an hour. One swipe of Rose Taupe from the Matte Lip Liner Set, then one swipe of gloss straight from the wand. Our High-Shine Lip Gloss layers clean over liner, no bleeding, no touch-up needed until lunch.
If you're going barefaced above the neck, gloss alone reads as put-together. It photographs well and holds without liner if you're short on time.
Step 5: Edit (30 seconds)
Anything added after this needs a reason: concealer for the one thing you'll photograph today, brow pencil if yours are sparse, mascara if you're presenting. The routine stands on its own. What you add is a choice, not a fix.
Five minutes is enough when the products are right.
